Aquarium

A couple weeks ago Zach and I headed to the Denver Aquarium with my mom and sister-in-law Kim. Strange enough, I'd never been there before. And I love aquariums!

Zach loved it and loved dragging my mom and Kim around. At first he was super excited, but by the end I think he was a little bored with more fish, or maybe just tired. It was perfect for kids because most of the displays were near the ground where they could see. I thought it was great!

Sharks!

At the end you could pet the rays. I'm pretty sure that Zach was just as excited about the splashing as the rays. He just wanted to swim.

"Trek"

About a month ago Zach had pneumonia and then Cal and I both also got sick. So we spent a good amount of time in front of the TV. It was the first time that Zach had really sat and watched anything for more than a couple minutes. We rented Shrek from the library and it was an instant hit. We've since bought Shrek 1 and 2 and Zach LOVES them. Funny boy. We try to limit TV time, but boy does it make him happy! He runs around the house going "Trek. Trek. Trek!"

Snip Snip

Our computer is working again!! That means updates.

A few weeks ago I cut Zach's hair for the first time. As both Pete and Rosie noticed, it was getting a bit long and looking a bit mulletish (that's a word, right?). I decided to cut it at my parent's house while the whole family was there for maximum distraction.

Here's before:

And here's the end result:

Not bad for a first haircut, right?

Technical Difficulties

It's been awhile since I posted, I know. Last week we had some bad luck in the computer world. First our desktop crashed, then a couple days later our laptop got some nasty viruses and went haywire.
Really? At the same time? Yes. But finally the laptop is in working condition and the desktop is being nursed back to life by my smart hubbie. Unfortunately my pictures and camera software are on the desktop. But the good news is that we didn't lose anything! We'd been meaning to back up all of our pictures for years now.... (If you haven't done so- do it now!!! It would be so sad to lose everything) So anyway, lots more pictures to come!

I promise!

I hope....

Animal Friends

It has been a rough week in the Smith household, but instead of complaining, I'll share this cuteness from last week.

In a lot of ways Zach is like his Daddy, but he does get his love of animals from me.
