More Pictures...

...Because now that I'm getting more into the swing of things I've been trying to get the camera out more. (Blog readers beware!) :)

I wonder how many times a day Zach kisses his head??
It is a LOT. When he sees Austin he often says, "Baby Awww-zieeee! I wanna kiss his head Mom!! Can I kiss it? [with a huge grin and sparkling eyes] I wanna see his toes! Where are his hands? Can I kiss them?" So sweet.

I know... the TOES!

So happy! I can't wait til he starts cooing.

My sweet Zach. I tell him to smile, and he says "Cheese!"

What day is it?

As my days and nights have become a continuous blur of snuggling and feeding, time has a strange way of passing both really slowly, and really quickly. Our little Austin ("Baby Ozzie" as we call him) is already 3 1/2 weeks old. We are gradually adjusting to our new life. I think I am growing a little more tired and a little more confidant about having 2 kids every day. Austin is on a somewhat sporadic schedule right now. Sometimes up all night, sometimes just waking up once, with a couple 6 hours stretches of sleep. He seems to get fussy in the evenings and would like to be held while he sleeps at night (good luck on that one Ozzie). We've had some concerns that he may be a reflux baby like Zach was (this means fussiness and more laundry than you can imagine). But I still have hope that we won't be going down that road! He is a really sweet baby and truly is very good. When he is sleeping, he can sleep through any noise that Zach can dish out. Zach so loves little Austin. If anything, he is a little over-enthusiastic about him, which I guess is a good thing.
Some pictures from the last couple weeks:

A little smile.

He's already starting to seem "big" to me- but this shows just how tiny he is!

Brotherly love.

I think it's amazing how different their skin color is. Austin has definately gotten my olive skin! I think there's still a touch of jaundice, too.

I just can't get enough of baby toes.

The boys.

I'm one lucky girl.

One Week

Hard to believe that a week ago I was snoozing in a hospital bed with little Austin in the nursery, getting wheeled in to me to eat every few hours. And now here I sit, updating our blog at midnight. Sleep deprived and in love with our new little guy. At the moment he is peaceful in the swing next to me, seemingly the only thing to soothe him tonight. It is a wild ride to have 2 little boys. Oh how I love them! Zach is doing pretty well with the transition. He loves Austin and always wants to hold his hand, kiss his head, hold him, and help me. Of course, he is an energetic 2 1/2 year old boy who is used to my full attention, so he has his moments. The true test will be this week, as Cal is now back at work. I feel lucky to have so much help around. Anyways, I think that's enough talk (because who knows if this will make any sense tomorrow), and post some pictures. Here goes.

New Baby on the Street

April 5th 2010 Austin was born at about 5:30 in the evening, just in time for dinner. Mother and Baby are doing well and getting some much needed rest. Austin was a healthy 6'6 just like his brother and 19 3/4 inches tall. He had an apgar score of 8 and 9 for those out there that care. Zach seems to be taking to being the older brother well, though I'm sure they will have their fair share of fights there are few things in life that compare to the relationship that brother share. Anyway I know your all here for the pictures so I won't let you down, thanks to a few shared photos from Ray. I'm sure there will many thousands more photos taken and posted but here is a start.

Monday Monday

My good friend Haley took some maternity pictures for me a couple days ago. 39 weeks. Here are a couple just for fun. (thanks Haley!!)

And while we're talking baby, here's a quick update. My due date is fast approaching- this next Tuesday. But because I'm measuring quite small, my doctor doesn't want me going past then at all. I know, that seems counter-intuitive, but he just wants to make sure everything is okay and get him out. SO, if this little guy doesn't come out this weekend, I'm set to be induced on Monday, bright and early. I've been having a ton of contractions, but have yet to make much progress (approx. 1.5 cm and 80% effaced, for anyone who cares). I am of course hoping to go into labor, um, NOW, but seriously excited that at the latest we'll get to meet him on Monday.
Maybe he'll be an Easter baby?
