California Dreaming

A couple weekends ago the Smith family gathered in LA to celebrate Pete's graduation from USC Law School. Originally I had not planned on going, as traveling with two little kids is not easy. But I decided to bite the bullet and go. And I'm so glad I did. The trip went smoothly and it was so fun to see everyone! We stayed in a couple condos on the beach in Seal Beach and it was wonderful.

Right outside our door.

Pete, Zach, and C3 (aka Grandad Cal)

Zach was thrilled to see everyone, especially Pete.

We had a fun day walking out on the fishing wharf and in the downtown area.

Brotherly Love

As promised, lots of pictures. Now getting them on the blog...
Today marks 7 weeks. Crazy. We have been so busy. How is there time in the day for more kids? I guess you figure it out. :) Zach really loves Austin. In fact, he always wants to wake him up to "play." Luckily, Austin sleeps right through it. Time is flying and it's so fun to watch Austin growing and starting to see the world and interact more. He is sleeping a lot better this week (knock on wood), like 6-7 hour stretches. Glorious! He has reflux, worse than Zach did I think. This means inconsolable crying for sometimes hours every day. Lots of spit-up (and laundry). And fussing when he eats. We are on medicine number two and it seems to be helping a lot. Most days are pretty good now and he is a much happier baby. We're thankful for modern medicine. He still has his rough days, so I'm trying to see if my diet affects him or if it's just random. He is such a sweet boy! He has started smiling, and it's getting to be a little more frequent. That is the best thing! One of these days hopefully I'll have my camera close by.
Zach has had a bit of a rough time adjusting recently. He was such a momma's boy and has not liked not getting my full attention. Or maybe it's the fact that he's 2 1/2. Either way I'm grateful to have had lots of help entertaining him and giving him special attention. He is so tenderhearted and has taken it all personally. He's coming around now a bit and most days I'm not the enemy. Sweet boy.
Anyways, it's late but I wanted to get a post up. So here are some random pictures from a couple weeks ago. More posts to come.
My silly Zach.

He really likes to hold Austin and wants to pick him up all the time. He loves to have him lie on his belly.
Tummy time is always better with a buddy!
