Spring Has Sprung

It was so nice out today that we decided to take a trip to the park. Zach tried the swings out for the first time on Sunday when we all (my family) went on a walk, and he loved it. He liked it today, too, but the real thrill was seeing all of the kids running around. He was just in a stupor staring at them. He was pretty sad to leave! I forsee MANY trips to the park in our future.

PJ's

My parents got him these super cute pj's in Steamboat.

We have had to get some big boy 2 piece pj's recently. He kicks his way out of any pajamas with snaps at night... He always has been a good kicker...

New Fun

Zach loves to suck on... anything. Lately he will get something in his mouth, then just let it hang there while he sucks. Then he will turn and look at me and give this grin. So funny!
We recently got Zach this activity center and he loves it. He is such a goof.

Telling me a good story.

House Hunters

The end of our lease is coming up this summer, and after years of watching HGTV, we are going to buy a house ourselves! We have been looking at houses online for awhile now, and this last Saturday actually started looking at houses with a realtor. We will most likely end up 15-20 minutes northeast of here in a town called Erie...

Anyway, we saw some interesting houses. One had been a foreclosure and the previous owners kindly looted the house before they left. They took all the appliances and some fixtures. There were holes in the walls and graffiti in the garage. Hard to imagine someone doing that....

Another house we really liked and it is going on "the list" of maybes.

And another is definitely not on the list. It was one of those things where I had a strange feeling even from the front porch (which had a pot of cigarette butts). Once in the house I definitely had a bad feeling. Has anyone ever experienced this? It looked like maybe college guys lived there (ie: the keg in the backyard), but there were also signs that there was a woman there... maybe kids sometimes?? But the weirdest part was upstairs. A smelly weight room, a master bedroom, and a third bedroom with a dog in a cage and a ski mask. Not the kind you see on the slopes. I'm talking a bank robber, stalker type ski mask. You know, black with little holes for eyes and mouth. Now, maybe there are very normal people with these hanging around their house. But coupled with the feeling of the whole house, it seemed wrong. I got chills all over and all of us couldn't get out of the house fast enough.

It reminded me a little of the time when I was at BYU in an abnormal psych class and had to volunteer at Utah State Hospital (the state mental hospital). I was in the Physical Therapy unit (of course) and some of who we worked with were the maximum security convicts who were there because they were murderers and rapists and they were seeing if they were in fact "crazy." Anyway, I remember that one man in particular would make my hair stand up and make me feel nauseous anytime he looked at me. Creepy. Bad.

So I think we'll keep looking. The hunt is ON!
