Trouble

Okay, so I'm a little slow in getting another post up... So here are tons of pictures to make up for it. I guess I've been busy chasing this little guy. We had put off fully baby proofing our townhouse because we thought we were going to move over a month ago... Obviously we are still here and I have finally put little locks on some of our cupboards, thanks to this:
It is his new obsession and he gets so mad when I pull him away. I can't figure out how to lock my baking cupboard, and he loves it! I think I'll have to move some stuff...

Going for the good stuff.

Playing is VERY serious business these days!

Out house hunting.... We loved this one, but got outbid...

To fill you in on our housing dilemma- we are going to re-sign our lease here for now. We are pretty bummed because we thought that we would for sure have a house by now. But we will have to wait until the time and house are right, I guess. (we thought it was, but what do we know???) We will get one eventually. Luckily our landlord has decided to give us some more options (he had told us we had to sign a 6+ month lease or move out), which really takes some stress off of us. Our lease was to be up in July...

I really can't complain too much, we are in a great place in a neighborhood we love and near my parents. Pretty good, right?

And one of the perks I'm just now taking advantage of is this community pool (that is free for residents) near our house. It is great for kids!

Zachie loves to snuggle in with his Daddy.

Although ultimately he is a mama's boy.

Zachie is already about 10 1/2 months old and time is flying. He is turning into such a little boy and I see his baby days floating away. He is getting a real sense of humor and he has me cracking up for much of the day (of course sometimes his humor is not so funny- apparently "no" is a pretty funny word). He is seriously busy. Always. At church today he was super wiggly and only wanting me. My dad leaned over and told me he is just practicing up for the plane. (we go to Mexico next month with my parents) It may be a long long flight. Although his curiousity and extremely high amounts of energy run me ragged and drive me crazy at times, I love it. It really is fascinating to watch him understand more and learn about the world. Being a mom is by far the most difficult job I've ever had, but by far the most rewarding and fun.

ANYWAY, we have some videos, too, that I'll work on getting up...

Happy Monday To You Too

This morning started out like a typical day. Woke up. Fed Zach. Ate a little breakfast. Signed an offer for a house. (yes, this unfortunately is pretty typical these days... thanks to some bad timing, and bad luck, this was the eighth house. 8. right now we have 2 offers in. but that's a whole other subject...) And then Zach and I headed out for our morning run. It was the perfect day for a run: not windy and hot like it has been, but cloudy and cool and fantastic. Then:

WHAM!

A giant bug flew into my left eye. I'm sure it was just as shocked as I was. Now I've had gnats get into my eyes before, and although that was unpleasant, this was something else. My lower eyelid is all swollen and sore. Did it sting me? Or maybe it was the wild thrashing it did trying to escape my eyelid? After standing in the middle of the road for awhile (it's trash day so impossible to run on the sidewalks) trying desperately to cry and wash it out, we made it home. Needless to say I wish I had remembered my sunglasses this morning!

On a happier note, today is our anniversary! I'll spare you anything mushy and just say that it has been the best three years. Happy Anniversary Cal!

Rain Rain Go Away

We had a rainy day a little while ago, and Zach was not so happy about it.

I thought we could try to take some pictures in my chair, like old times.

Silly me.

Why can't we just go outside???

More pictures from the picnic...

Gotta love the four generation photos!
(Grandma, Dad, Zach, and me)

Hiking.

Mountaineering.

Flying Zach

We went on a picnic last weekend up in the mountains with Papamundo (Ray), Great Granny Ina (she prefers just Ina), Great Grandpa Carl, Em, Zach, and I. The mountain air seemed to get Zach in the mood for some flying practice.

Zach is doing a good job spotting the landing on this one but he is "rolling down the windows" a little bit.

Zach decided to go with a "Straight Air" for this jump.

And here you see the look of pure joy on a young boys face as he flies through the air. Zach doesn't know that in the future he will get to fly like this and then! splash into some type of body of water, be it lake, pool, river, pond, creek, canal or ocean.

Em in the Newspaper

On Memorial Day Em ran the Bolder Boulder. Alas, she didn't win the race and collect the prize money however she did get the second best thing - Her picture in the newspaper! The photographer obviously wasn't very good and didn't quite get her in focus but I have done my best to make her stand out.

As you can see I am pretty much a pro at editing photos. It only took two free hand paint brush attempts in both Photo Shop and Corel to convince me that I should go back to software that I know. I had to use Word to put the fancy boarder and red circle on the picture, then I didn't want to post a word document so I had to use Microsoft One Note to copy the picture into a picture format, then I was back to Corel to convert the funky format to the friendly JPEG.
So yeah, no problem getting this post up.
