Something

I've been a bad blogger recently. So here are lots of random updates and pictures of Zach, just for the sake of updating. I apologize for the lack of any logical order, as I'm just too lazy to mess with it.

Zach cracks me up. I think every day I love him more and am more grateful for him. But enough mushy stuff. Here is some of the funny stuff he's up to.
An obsession lately is driving. If we are anywhere near the car, including every time we go somewhere, he has a need to "drive" it. It just thrills him to do what he sees us do. It also leads to real sadness when we strap him in his carseat.

He also loves to push/ride in our neighbor's cool Radio Flyer car. It is the envy of all neighborhood kids.

He still loves my hair. Someday hopefully he'll outgrow this. Sooner rather than later. Often it is really sweet, and other times I feel like I've been mauled.

Snacktime.

Silliness.

Z LOVES music and dancing. He gets ahold of my Ipod and rocks out in front of our mirror. Or he carries around a little plastic stepstool to the dresser and turns on my stereo and we both have to dance. He gets in his power stance (legs really wide apart) and rocks back and forth and slaps his legs. For some reason he really likes to do this to one of my old Dixie Chicks CDs. If we can ever get a video on here, I will put it on. He is always tapping a beat and singing little songs. I think of him as my little Happy Feet.

Zach is trying really hard to communicate these days. He tells me stories all day (most of which I don't understand) and loves to "read" to me. He is now trying out 2-3 word phrases. Things like "I do it" that show how independent he is getting. We have had thunderstorms every day for weeks and he loves the thunder. He says "Mama" (sign language "more") "Boom!" over and over wanting me to make more thunder. When it thunders he covers his mouth with a little grin.

He still loves animals. His first word was Cat, soon to be followed by Hannah (my parents' cat) and he still loves them. Unfortunately Hannah is not so fond of him. We do have a neighbor's cat that is super friendly and loves kids and Zach follows it around with a big grin. He is so gentle and sweet with it. He likes to get down on the cat's level and talk to it and the cat just purrs. Someday we'll have a cat of our own.

Well, he is up from his nap, so that's all for now.

Oh, I just love love love your photography! When ever I see your pictures it makes me want to get a good camera and learn a thing or two about how to use it. I'm sure when Zach is older he will love having such cool pictures of his childhood!

I got your package! Thank you, thank you! So cute! Did you do the stitching around the blanket and burp cloths? I love those little cloths, they are the handiest things ever!

What a toddler! I love how curious he is. That driving thing is cute while they're in the driver's seat, but when it comes time for the car seat, I'm pretty sure everybody around can hear Emma scream. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Also, you always inspire me to take a photography class...your pictures are awesome.

He's so cute, we love to hear little updates from your Mom about Zach. She's such a proud Grandma. Sophie does some of these same things. She loves to dance, and she rubs my shirt when she's tired (it's also a mix of cute, but sometimes annoying), she hates the carseat too! Such a fun age!
