Sunflower Farm

While we were in Vail my parents took the boys to Sunflower Farm. I had been wanting to take them somewhere like this, so I was excited when my Mom found it. They raved about how neat it is, so when the weather was nice enough my Mom and I took them again. It is only open to the public in the spring and fall, so we made it on one of the last days of the season. It was an amazing place with so much to see and do! I know this is a lot of pictures, but it is only a fraction of what was there.

There was a zip-line there and I was impressed that Zach jumped right on it. It went pretty fast and far and I was a little worried he would fall off when he hit the end, but he did great. He loved it and would have done it again, but the seat swung up and hit him in the face right before his turn. Another time...

There were lots of really tall trees, which allowed for some swings on really tall ropes.  Zach loved the tire swing made into a horse.  Austin rode in a baby swing and loved it too.

Also in the big trees were a bunch of tree houses connected by little rope bridges and walkways.  Zach got a little scared on one of the bridges and I went up to help him.  It was safe, but pretty wobbly and I don't blame him.

"Driving" a tractor.

Austin checking out the goats.  There were some cute little babies, too.  There were also horses, cows, sheep, a llama, ducks, geese, turkeys, peacocks, pigs, ponies, roosters and hens and chicks...

Austin has been working on communicating and is actually doing really well and saying quite a few words.  Sometimes he likes to stand a certain way and look at you with his eyebrows raised and "talk," or make lots of noises.  Here he is talking to a goat.

GIANT hay bales.

I wanted a picture of the two boys together.  This was as good as I got.  Austin was not very smiley that day, I think because of 2 teeth trying to come in.

On a front loader.

Austin really wanted to touch the peacock.  He would follow after it and my mom had to stop him from getting it.

Another tractor.

They also had multiple little houses for the kids.

Feeding some animals.  Zach thought it was fun, but Austin couldn't get the hang of how to hold your hand out.  He wanted to hold onto the corn, or play with it in the buckets.

It was so much fun and we can't wait to go back!

That sheep eating from Zach's hands looks like a lunatic.

Wow, that looks like a lot of fun! Great pictures of the boys. Zach is getting so big, I think he is due for a visit here in Reno. I know of a few other people who would second that opinion!

That place looks so fun! I'm glad Zach didn't have any traumatic experiences with the sheep biting his hand or anything. Nice sheep.
