Thanksgiving in Reno

This year for Thanksgiving we headed out to Reno.  The whole Smith family was able to be there, and also Grandma Jean.  It was wonderful to have everyone together!

We started Thanksgiving with the first annual Smith/Gabbart 5k Turkey Trot.  We went to Virginia Lake and it was pretty casual.  The weather was nice and sunny and it was a fun way to start the day.

One of the greatest pulls for us to make the trip was to meet our niece- Sarah and Toby's Clare.  She is darling and won all of our hearts.  Pre-run baby admiring.

Smiths/Gabbarts

Even Grandma Jean participated.  Impressive at 92!

Austin loves Katie.

We didn't take a stroller, so Cal and I took turns with Austin.  He liked the birds.

Done!

Traditionally the Gabbarts host Thanksgiving dinner, but this year there were 3 Gabbarts to our 13 Smiths, so we took it on.  It was a group effort and everything was yummy!

After dinner, we enjoyed some music.  Always great.  The boys had fun dancing.

Austin had gone to bed and got back up when they were about to begin playing.  He doesn't sleep much away from home and it was a struggle most nights to get him to sleep.  Thankfully, he napped well this time!  When he got up he kept sticking his belly out like this and it was hilarious.  We later realized he was really hungry- the boys barely ate Thanksgiving dinner, silly boys.

Zach got his stomping foot going.

Austin brings new meaning to the phrase "Going belly up."

We are getting to be such a huge family. Just wait till we have the whole Smith/Gabbart clans together!
