Pool Time

We spent a lot of time at the pools.  The kids loved the blue pool, which has a big shallow kid's area and slides, tunnels, caves, and bridges.  Unfortunately it was also the loud pool with lots of loud music and silly games.  But we had a great time there!

Our rooms were at the end of a long darkish hall, and the elevator and the door outside were at the other ends of the hall.  So we saw a lot of cute happy bouncy silhouettes running down the halls.  I loved it!

We were often one of the first people out at the pool and it was kind of nice to have it to ourselves, and have it quiet.  (our room overlooked this pool also).

Zach braving the alligator slides.  They are big and fast.  He went the first day or two, but it scared him a bit and he wouldn't do it for a few days.  He got brave and did it again the last day when Austin did it.

Fun with Daddy

The biggest pool news is that Cal taught Zach to swim while we were there.  They spent a lot of time and Zach did great!  I was seriously impressed.  I bought some goggles right before our trip and they were like swimming magic for him.  He gained a lot of both skill and confidence there and had tons of fun.

TONS of rock jumping, of course!

We called him our fish, but he corrected me to call him Aquaman.

Obviously.

Austin loved the pool too and played a lot with the buckets and shovels and little shark toys.  He also liked to jump off the rocks and play in the floaty tube that someone who was leaving gave to us.

Snack time!  The boys did pretty well with eating.  We bought a bunch of food at a Walmart and a little market so we were able to feed them more than just french fries, (ahem, Austin.  He rarely gets them at home and I swear that's mostly what he ate when we ate out there) chicken nuggets and quesadillas.  :)

The blue umbrella you can see in the background was a table with ceramic things you could paint and then they fired in a kiln for you.  Zach did a few (a lizard and a bowl) and Austin did one (a turtle that the shell is a lid).  Zach was in heaven- art on the beach!  They turned out really cute.

Austin did well on this trip, (unlike the last time we were there, when Austin was a little baby).  (Zach did great).  He actually slept at night and napped and had so much fun.  He took a great nap every afternoon and it was so convenient to just run him upstairs for a bit.

The boys would get cold in the pool after awhile and would beg to go in the hot tub.  It seemed uncomfortable to me in the heat, but they loved it.

Cal was definately the fun one in the pool.  He threw them up in the air and turned them in flips.  He took Zach into the caves under the "island" area in the middle of the pool that you reach by swimming underwater through tunnels.  He even took Austin in there.  They thought that was so cool.

Austin really loved the slides (he would ride on one of our laps) and would immediately beg to go again as soon as he was out.  "Again!  Again! Again!!"

Is there anything cuter than Zach in swim goggles? No there is not!

I want to go swimming for fun so badly! Hope we get to do a little when we are in Denver during August.
